- Elimination
of barriers which impede the utilization of general aviation
aircraft for international flights, such as restricted
airspace, unreasonable advance diplomatic clearances,
customs security deposits on aircraft, excessive inspection
and clearance fees, unduly long advance notification requirements
and restriction of international airports against general
aviation traffic;
- Provision
of informative articles, bulletins and press releases
to aviation publications and other news media as appropriate
with regard to IAOPA and general aviation in order to
promote better understanding of general aviation worldwide;
- Develop and
disseminate information circulars and other material to
member organizations on subjects pertinent to their operation
and understanding in dealing with their national authorities
and international organizations, including information
of interest to their membership;
- Encourage
the provision of services at international airports to
facilitate the clearance and handling of international
general aviation flights;
- The elimination
of restrictions and possible hazards to air navigation;
- The development
of airports, air routes, communications, navigation facilities
and services designed and operated to fill the needs of
general aviation;
- Weather reporting
and forecasting facilities adequate for the needs of general
aviation;
- Acceptance
of flight plans by national authorities as adequate advance
notification of arrival at designated airports of entry,
with ATC authorities being responsible for directing the
pilot to an area on the airport where customs, health
and immigration clearances can be effected with a minimum
of delay;
- Production
and improvement of aeronautical charts to enable both
visual and radio navigation as appropriate to the area;
- The permanent
marking and lighting of all manmade obstructions which
may be hazardous to flight and the depiction of such hazards
on aeronautical charts.
